UP
cop rapes minor in police station
New Delhi: A 14-year-old
girl was allegedly raped by an Uttar Pradesh
police sub-inspector at the Sahibabad police
station in Ghaziabad, police said on
Saturday.
The
victim in the FIR has alleged that the
accused, Shyam Pal, on Friday afternoon took
her in a car from her house in Bhajan Pura to
the Sahibabad police station. He then took
her inside a room in the police station and
raped her, a senior police officer
said. He threatened her not to tell
anything to her parents. He then dropped her
back home in the evening, the officer
added.
But
the girl informed her parents and they
complained to the police. While the accused
is posted at the Sahibabad police station,
the victim is a student of Class VIII at a
government school in east Delhi, the police
said. The accused is reportedly a friend of
the victims family.
The
girl revealed that he had taken her out
earlier and tried to molest her. He had
threatened her with a false case against the
family if she informed anyone, the
police officer added. The victims
medical test has confirmed rape. The police
has registered a case against the accused,
but no arrests have been made so far.

( Out of 1000s of such cases
1 gets reported in the media, then the
police most reluctantly take some action,
file a weak case in the Court and the
judges oblige by letting the accused go
scot free. BECAUSE the police do not just
commit such crimes themselves, they
provide for Politicians, Judges and other
powerful people. (Visit http://www.RoguePolice.com/areyoua.htm ).
All this goes on in our country, because
the educated people feel, they are
insulated from such dastardly acts by the
police and such things happen to others,
so they refuse to do anything.
Before you sleep tonight,
think what if the police sub-inspector,
had done the same thing with your own 14
year old daughter or your niece or your
sister. Pleease sleep soundly with that
thought tonight ... IKC )

Cops made me
give false statement, says abducted Tilak
Nagar girl
Files
PIL in Supreme Court alleging police also got
her married to the accused who repeatedly
raped her for a year
SANTOSH MISHRA
Anita
Rampyare Yadav, the girl who went missing
from Tilak Nagar (Chembur) in September last
year and who was later traced to Surat, has
now approached the Supreme Court complaining
that the police forced her to give a false
statement to the Mumbai High Court in a case
of kidnap and rape.
On Tuesday,
Anita and 44 others, including social
workers, filed a Public Interest Litigation
in the SC, alleging that the police
pressurised her to marry Dinesh Sharma, who
allegedly confined and repeatedly raped Anita
in a house in Surat.
Speaking to
Mumbai Mirror Anitas council Charanjeet
Chanderpal said, SC admitted the PIL.
Anita was kidnapped, confined, and raped
several times. Later, the police threatened
her and forced her to give a false statement
before the HC. Anita was lured and convinced
to marry the accused who was already married.
Charanjeet
added, Anita was later deserted by the
accused and is now left with a child.
In her
statement Anita said, I was told by
them (Tilak Nagar police personnel Shinde,
Shirke and Pote) to state that my age is 22
years and that I had eloped with Dinesh
Sharma of my own free will. In fact, when I
was kidnapped, I was 17 years.
The statement
further reads, I used to treat Dinesh
Sharma as my brother and would also tie a
raakhi on him. Dinesh made me intoxicated and
I was taken to Bandra Station and from there
to a place next to Sachin Railway Station in
Surat. I was repeatedly raped there.
I never got married, but when I came to
Mumbai, Shinde, Shirke and Pote got me
married, Anita alleged.
Senior
Inspector S K Naravane of Tilak Nagar police
said, The allegations are baseless. We
are yet to receive a copy of the petition. We
will act according to the law in the matter.

Goa
min son booked for rape
Cops Raid Monserrates House,
Register Case Against Him For Abetment
TIMES NEWS NETWORK
Panaji: A day after a lawyer
was attacked for helping a rape victims
family, state education minister Atanasio
Babush Monserrates son
Rohit was on Tuesday charged with raping the
minor German girl. Adding to the
embarrassment of the ruling Digamber Kamat
government, the Goa police raided two houses
belonging to the controversial minister after
registering a case against him, but were yet
to find Rohit.
We have
registered a case of rape, outraging the
modesty and molestation of a minor against
Rohit Monserrate. A case has also been
registered against his father for abetting to
the crime by handing over his mobile for the
purpose of issuance of messages,
said SP (north) Bosco George.
A
notice has been served to
his father at his
Taleigao residence,
asking his son to be
present immediately on
receipt of the summons,
said George.

when police went to

<<<<<<<<<
The police
registred the case at 12.10 pm and went to
arrest the 21-year-old Rohit at 4 pm. But
when cops reached the Taleigao residence of
the minister, Babush said his son was out of
station. The police searched the house and
served the notice to the minister. Now
its the fathers responsibilty to
give the notice to his son and produce him
before the police. Even Babush can be
arrested under the Goa Childrens Act
for abetment of the crime, said a
senior police officer. The police had dragged
their feet on the mothers complaint on
October 2.
Lawyer attacked:
The police have arrested three persons for
Monday nights attack on social activist
and advocate Aires Rodrigues and historian
Prajal Sakhardande. Rodrigues alleged the
attack was made as he had gathered evidence
against Monserrate and his son.
Times View
Its unfortunate that it has taken an
attack on lawyer Rodrigues for the police to
take any action in this case. Such
sluggishness in acting on the complaint can
only add to the perception that the accused
is being treated with kid gloves because he
happens to be an influential mans son.
The minister protests that he is being made
the victim of a political conspiracy. Even
for those who believe him, it should be
obvious that ascertaining the truth behind
the allegations and being seen to do sois
of paramount importance. This is important to
reassure not only the victims family,
but Goan society at large that the rule of
law applies without fear or favour.
