Subject : Corruption in Mumbai Police
Respected Sir,
Attached please find a copy of the affidavit filed by
me in the high court, in WP / 1679 /2007, connected
with illegal police chowkies all over Maharashtra.
You can double check through you departments and you
will realise that Mumbai Traffic Police has been
receiving crores every month in bribes thru the
advertising on pedestals and other forms of
advertising allowed on mobile trucks.
From the knowledge that I have of the outdoor
advertising industry in Mumbai, I can very
confidently assert that the pedestals across Mumbai,
which the Mumbai Police has allowed free to an
advertising company, can easily generate Rs 100
Crores EVERY YEAR, with 0 investment of Mumbai
Police. (Rupees one hundred Crores).
This money can be used most productively for
providing benefits to the lower ranks of the police
force, such as funding their housing requirement,
childrens education and compensating a
Policemans family in case of death while on
duty.
You alone have a reputation of being a clean
politician, therefore I am addressing this letter to
you. Why wait for the court order, why not cancel
this illegal permission given to a private party and
call for offers from the industry for these pedestal
advertising and help the needy lower ranks of the
police force.
Remember every months delay means a loss of 7-8
crores. Next date in court is on 4th June 2008, why
waste a month.
