60 years of
Independence. From the oppression and
enslavement at the hands of the British, and straight
into the brutal and corrupt hands of some of our very
own countrymen. The corrupt bureaucrats and law
enforcers of our great country who do everything but
enforce the law of the land, the Rogue Police of
India.
The last few decades have seen this corrupt breed of
high-handed men in khaki rise in numbers. A rotten
handful, they are fast multiplying and maligning the
reputation of the entire police force. Every morning,
newspapers and television channels scream out,
drawing our attention to their illegal activities
such as wrongful arrests, extortion, harassment,
torture, intimidation and sometimes even fake
encounters.
Its
time we, as senior citizens, come together
and put a check on this plague engulfing our
entire law and order system. It's time we
pooled our resources in whatever way we can.
This is an opportunity for all retired and
concerned Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, Police
Officers, Judges, Military Personnel,
Teachers, Journalists and other Literate
Citizens, who are financially self sufficient
and have a few hours to spare every month, to
unite under one forum.
Together we can make a
difference, by contributing time, energy, and even
our professional expertise to free our great nation
all over again. We owe it to our country. And to our
grandchildren.
You cannot
expect change to happen overnight. The
process of change is slow and gradual. It
is a work in progress all the time. It
happens through legislation, it happens
through social transformation, attitude
change, and mindset change. So it is
indeed a work in progress all the time.
You have to keep working on it, without
worrying too much to see the outcome in
your lifetime....Kaifi Azmi
